English Language

The English language support groups currently take place during our Wednesday evening social meet at Ross Baptist Church.

These informal groups are differentiated to support learners who are at various stages of their English language acquisition.

All levels welcome!

Social Events

The social team organise regular events and activities which enable groups to meet up and socialise.

Please contact us if you have any suggestions for events or can offer an activity or venue.

Our next event is taking place on Wednesday 17th August. See flyer below for details:

Our last ‘Share-A-Plate’ meet up on 7th August at the Ross Community Gardens was a great success! We had the opportunity to sample traditional dishes from Ukraine and the UK. We all enjoyed the chance to socialise and play traditional games in the glorious sunshine.

How to get involved

If you are hosting, or are a Ukrainian refugee in the area, then please feel free to contact us.

If you are considering hosting, then people in this group will be glad to share their experience of what is involved and how to go about it.

If you are not able to host, there are still many ways you can help.  If you have usefull skills or resources available or a little time, then please contact us.  Some ideas of ways to support:

  • Help filling in forms for visas, bank accounts, jobs, benefits etc.
  • Providing transport or taking guests out for the day
  • Offering invitations to your club or social group
  • Assisting with English language learning
  • Baking or making tea for a social event
